They manage to not take themselves seriously
But has it aged well?
Let's just hope it will be good for what it is!

for that price I seriously consider buying it. the spellcast system sounds funny and friendly fire in a co-op game, yes please :)

This is seriously impressing me. I am really looking forward to this one, and here's hoping some other TTLGers are up for some co-op. 'Accidentally get killed by up to 3 of your friends' lol.
Oh, Steam release in the cards?

(thread necromancy alert for those who get upset about such things)
Is anyone else playing this game? I just bought it on Steam a few hours ago so I can't tell you much about it yet, but so far it's been pretty good! The spell casting system seems innovative and it's fun to experiment with the different elements. There seems to be a lot of spell combinations with pretty interesting effects, you just need to experiment and use some common sense to find them out.
The combats have been a bit chaotic so far, but I suppose things will get easier once I learn some more effective spell combos. The controls are really simple and easy to learn, but when a group of monsters suddenly pops up from nowhere and you have no time to stop and think about them, I forget even the easiest spells and accidentally blow myself up or heal the enemies or something. But it's all part of the fun.
I will probably report back with some more thoughts about the game once I've played it some more, but the first impressions have been good. I've only played it in single-player mode so far, but I can't wait to try the co-op mode with some friends.
By the way, you can buy Magicka Complete Pack (includes the original Magicka, the new expansion Magicka: Vietnam (!!), and some DLC item pack) on Steam for half price (7,99€) at the moment which seemed like a pretty good deal to me.

Good timing, I was thinking about buying it and was wondering if anyone else still plays online.
PM me your STEAM ID and we'll make it happen.

I have owned it since around launch and have been meaning to get back into it. PM me and I'll give you my Steam ID and we can play.

Bought it.
So far it seems mostly 10,000 ways to blow yourself up. Kind of fun, but really needs to reload a lot faster and have more checkpoints if it's going to be "One wrong key and you're dead"

Lets get a game going this weekend, and we can see what happens when you cross the streams.
