I'm pretty sure there are already flashlight models out there. I know there was one in Rose Cottage by Saturnine et al., and I seem to recall one in Sluggs' mission The Good Samaritan, though I'm not positive about that. There may be others. As for the light effect, that is certainly possible, but I'll leave the explanations to the experts here.

Rose Cottage had a UV light, not a flashlight. I have a flashlight of sorts in one of the DCE missions, but it only has dynamic light and doesn't illuminate only what the spotlight cone points at; I'm not sure that's possible as even NewDark doesn't have dynamic spotlights. NV's old gizmos demo has a lantern of sorts which kind of does this, but I've no idea how he pulled it off.
I would advise you to simply DetailAttach a spotcone bitmap to the end of a flashlight model, give the model dynamic light, and attach it to an AI's off hand. That's what I did in DCE. It took some fiddling and nudging to get it looking right, but that might just be my OCD attention to detail. It was actually a bit trickier to get it to go out and have him drop it when he was KO'd or killed - if you need that info, I'll post it up tomorrow when I have time.

Someone (NV?) made a functional flashlight for the abandoned Citadel Conversion Project. It was essentially a row of dynamic lights on a stick, extending away from the player viewpoint.

That's how I did the headlight on a train engine. It worked, but not great.

Thanks for The answers, is there a FM Who use a flashligt, or have anyone a Demo/Tutorial. The idea with Attach is a good Point, but i dont really Understand how.
Can anyone make a Demo for this? Ist would Be Great.

I can make a demo mission for it in the next day or two. I'll post it here when I get it done.

NVGizmos has a flashlight demo. It's only one dynamic light rather than a row, though.
This should be the link, but it doesn't seem to be working for me right now.

Apparently someone uploaded it to moddb? This link works:

There's probably a Citadel Conversion Project demo around somewhere, but the light in that was handled by custom scripts, so there's probably nothing to see there.
It created a row of 16 dynamic lights, spaced 4 units apart and attached to the player's view via the Camera <s>Attack</s> Attach property (which doesn't exist in Thief 2 anyway.)

Ah, I just re-read the original post and the demo I had planned to share was for an AI with a flashlight, but you want one used by the player. NV's Gizmos demo he just linked to is your best bet then, I've never done anything like that.
