That won't work, either. This is aggravating - shouldn't at least one of those methods have worked? Never mind! I still had some S&R on my lever. I got rid of all of those and now it seems to be working. It could have been using damage slay result, too. Thanks all!

Sometimes destroying an object won't happen. You might try teleporting them to a blue room as Random_Taffer suggested.

Why use a door in that spot if you don't need to? Why not go with an invisible fence or something that has no troubling properties already set to it?

I have a new problem y'all. Though I have succeeded at deleting the barriers, I was hoping to do the same to some particles. Obviously, slaying doesn't work with particles because the barriers are going away but the particles are not. I will try to teleport out the particles and see if that works. It worked! woooooohooo

Cd link an inverter to the particles, and cd your lever to the inverter.

I create the particle, uncheck Active at the very top of the particle box and then ControlDevice them directly to a lever. I don't think anything else is needed, though you may need the TweqOnOff script added as well (doesn't seem to do anything extra).

I saw that on the example I looked at before posting, but I assumed all particles had that script by default.
