Mapping out The City. - by Digital Nightfall

Could you explain that more since we aren't sure we're getting your meaning?
TDS
really threw a wrench into the works, as well, and now makes up the borders of the current iteration.

The Paw should be on the coast, and the Chalice is nowhere near Ft.Ironwood, let alone it's Catacombs. The dot in the center of Old Quarter should've been where the Chalice was placed.) Look past the Final Glyph and District lines and see all the tributaries flowing to the big friggin' River.
Just to keep others aware of the discussion:

Consider it gerrymandering by the City Council's Inner Circle. They do have elected officials, such as Truart's possibly Mechanist-influenced and otherwise questionable election. Not to mention the canon bribery of Constables and City court officials.

True, but that isn't the case on the map here.
It is if you understand "Quarter" as an literal quarter of the city, a massive quartered section of the entire City that contains districts, and not just another local district on its own. The Old Quarter is the orange highlighted area on the fan map, and you can see the part of the OQ you're specifically talking about from that in-game map *is* NE of New Market, E of Hightowne, and N of Downtowne on the fan map. With that interpretation everything falls into place nicely and consistently across all the in-game maps. With your interpretation the City is incoherent under different maps and falls apart under its own illogic. And happily the labels themselves say that "quarters" and "districts" are different in just the way that brings sense to everything (and note there are 4 quarters). As the Sham Wow guy would say, "I don't know. It sells itself."

I added the following URL to the thread tags for the most recent iteration.

When Thief 4 appears this thread probably will have a lot more pages to fill. :laff:

Only if it's faithful on enough levels to welcome it into the LGS/ISA trilogy.:sly:
But yeah. What I'm really hoping for is that they make the ultimate map based on any sketches or art right from the original sources, but that's a dream.

Arise, Thread. I summon you from the grave!
Anyways, has there been any further work done on the project thus far, or are we holding out hope for more from T4?

More the latter than the former, methinks.

Yeah, work could be done, but you have to think T4 is going to both add a whole new can of worms and bring a lot of new momentum and energy to the project. So we know stuff will pick up then.
Anyway, there was that general call for some artistic maps to be made, and I actually made one (could use some fixing up), and the interactive map. There's nothing stopping anyone from picking up on that before T4 opens the floodgates again.

Hoh, where's that at? Must have dozed off.

Where was the call? I don't know, just sort of an understanding that's what people could do now that we have some consensus on the latest draft.
Where is my map? I don't know how "artistic" it is since it's mostly a copy-paste job, but (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1835574#post1835574) here is the post on it (with a link).
Edit: Or where is the interactive map, maybe? Except for a few experimental things, there isn't one so far as I know. That was just another idea people were throwing around; I just mentioned it as one of the things people were talking about as far as artistic maps being made.
