A one-month delay is quite mild though, usually timed exclusives are much longer than that.

So I'm getting this.
Question is - mouse & keyboard or gamepad? I'm leaning towards gamepad but I only have PS3 Sixaxis pads. Got to find out how to get them working on the PC.

Hmm, the aiming is easy enough with a gamepad, so the added accuracy of a mouse wouldn't add much to this game, but then again it doesn't really make use of the analog inputs of the gamepad either so a keyboard should serve just as well. In the end it'll probably work just as well with either control method.

Looks like I have to have it plugged in by USB. Given the nature of the Sixaxis mini-USB port this is... precarious.

Not really required if your PC (laptop?) has Bluetooth, or a dongle that supports the required specs. May be a bit of a hassle if you don't though, in which case, if I were in your position, I'd just buy an F710 for PC-specific stuff.

Well, this came out on Steam (in the US at least?) yesterday and it's pretty damn fantastic. I've been through the first 3 levels so far, though I missed out on one of the seal challenges and need to redo the third level.
I haven't actually tried the PC controls just yet because when I started it up, it had Xbox buttons for everything. Turns out the game detected my gamepad, a Wii Classic Controller Pro, and was using the Xbox button prompts automatically instead of the keyboard ones. So I started testing to see if all the buttons were actually set up right, which they were, and just kept playing with the controller.
With all the unlocks and such, I can't wait to retry some of these levels with different styles and moves, should be a lot of fun.
TotalBiscuit has a new video up specifically for the PC version, it's a good look at, but man he sucks at stealth and puzzles.

I can't remember playing any 2D, sidescrolling stealth games, ever. Can the gameplay be compared to any of the main stealth series? Is it more of a puzzle game or more emergent? And is the game fun if you're going for few or no fatalities?

I'd recommend checking out Northernlion's Mark of the Ninja look at video, should give a pretty good idea.

It plays like a 2D Arkham Asylum. Though there are defenitely similarities with Dishonored as well.
And yes, "no kills" style is both doable and fun.
