If you save while aiming a fire arrow and switch to another weapon, then after loading there'll be fire arrow particles in the air where they were at the moment of saving. If you just unselect the weapon instead of switching to another one, effect will only occur after second loading. So if you play mission, that has zero ambient light in the darkness and/or difficult labyrinthes, then you can use this trick in order to know exactly all visited places!

Except that the explosion will alert any beasties or guards in the vicinity. Not a very sneaky way to explore or travel.

Sounds like you only have to aim the arrow, not fire it.

Too bad it's not for Thief 3 so I could play that new labyrinth mission :p

I don't understand his directions.
Someone rewrite them for me more comprehensibly please.

* Draw a fire arrow (so you're ready to fire)
* Quicksave
* Change weapons (without firing the fire arrow)
* Load game

I just tried it out by pressing escape and saving with the fire arrow drawn. It works, but I didn't know you could quicksave in The Dark Project. How do I?

Default is Quicksave F11 Quickload F12. Don't mix 'em up...easy to do.;)
