This new version fixed the problem alright, it seems that if I wander into the graveyard before going into the black room, the Red Death won't appear.
re: ShadowWolf421 I won't tell you what the secrets are, but I'll tell you the rooms they are in:
There's 1 in the Purple Room (not to be confused with the Violet Room!), and the other is in the chamber underneath the White Room with the spider.
.
As for the wine goblets that go into your inventory, their only purpose seems to be to intoxicate as they will slow you down temporarily if you drink them.

@ShadowWolf421:
the secrets:
1) is a gem in the purple room (the 2nd room you come to inside from the mission's start) - there's rope arrows in a ittle money box in that room for a reason (it's not obvious that texture is wood because of lighting & making it purple, but it is)
2) down under the white room in the little room with the spider - there's a button somewhere
the goblets are just slow fall potions really - best thing i think to emulate wine
if you want more direct information, just post again...
i also put a list of all that stuff on my website (lists loot, secrets & such): (
http://www20.brinkster.com/raetsel/thief/lootlist.html) here
i also love all those stories by poe that you mentioned :)
edit: what spyrano said ;)
thanks again, Spyrano for posting about that so i could fix it :)

Where is the damn sword??? Fantastic mission, but I have been over every inch and still can't find the sword. Pure frustration!!! I have no hair left.
raetsel on 4/3/2004 at 07:17
did you complete the 'find prince prospero' objective? if you didn't see the sword - i'm guessing it's maybe under his body - it should be in that vicinity - near the clock
This mission actually, seriously, in real life made my jaw drop! And LAUGH too! And then that Red Death voice made my heart sink! Wasn't expecting that! This was soooooo cool! Way to go! excellent! I've never read Poe, but I think I might now!
raetsel on 27/3/2004 at 05:24
wow, thanks! :)
i'm glad you liked it!
uncadonego did a great job with the red death's creepy voice (and with any voice he ever does), i agree!! :thumb:
(by the way, i included the red death story by poe in the readme file - you should check out some of his other stuff! it's all good... well, i think so anyway :))
