No it's a free for all. Loudest person gets the biggest gun. Extra fire power for awesome duets.

I wish you were serious. It might make the game sound more entertaining. Not that it matters all that much to me anyway, as I do not own a PS3.

How does the game handle microphones with so many people? Is it area chat only?
Your squad has eight people, each of whom you can hear. And the platoon leaders/OICs can talk to everyone, I believe.

Picked this up myself now after some umm-ing and ahh-ing, and I'm really enjoying it. I have found that if you go to your audio devices settings in the Playstation menu and set your blue-tooth earpiece as the output for voice, it does quite a clever thing: your squad come through the earpiece while the rest of the team come through the telly. Nifty :)
And I'm getting massive RtCW vibes off of it, which can't be a bad thing. I'm also surprised how well it plays with so many players, even though I've only been doing the 64-man suppression fights so far.
It seems a lot more focussed than other games I've played with that many players.

Looking forward to checking this out when I get a PS3, though inevitably I will be sub-par at it given that I'm far more used to mouse-and-keyboard for FPS controls.
BTW - are there any aircraft? I get the impression that there isn't, which is probably a good thing for balance reasons, but man the BF 1942 planes were so fun.

There's no aircraft to fly, but there are parachute drops and airstrikes.
Having just played a bit more, I can see this taking up a LOT of my time. It's
brilliant. And I love the FRAGO thing; really encourages teamwork. Can't wait to try being a squad leader myself :)

Good to hear, been eying this one for a while. How long do you think it will be active, so many great games nowadays the latest big thing is always around the corner.

The devs have said that this is basically a launching pad, and that they'll continue supporting it and building it up with patches/expansions/etc.

Was kinda hoping for that. Problem with good games is that there are so many of them. For who played it, from the footage I saw it appears the guns are a little bit weak. Took the guy quite a bit of bullets to down someone, I like the approach of Call of Duty where 1 or 2 is enough, do I have something to worry about?

Depends what gun, where you hit them and what armour they have on.
I think a headshots will always be one shot, but with the sniper rifle its taken me 3 shots on average if not headshotting, and up to 5. It's hard to tell with other guns as they have some spread. Its certainly not as definitive as Red Ochestra where 1 bullet = dead, unless you were very, very lucky.
