I also open both of the doors with the speedy swordsmen from the side so they could not see me and when I opened the second door they were gone
Thanks...that worked. The key was in a different room than I first saw it ...strange.

Thing is, after grabbing the talisman, the only way I saw to get back was a mad-dash. I took a deep breath and started running, passing right in front of at least four tree haunts.... And none of them chased me. If I had known they were so blind it wouldn't have been nearly as tense. Knowing that, there's just not much point trying to replay the mission. (Even without having to endure the awful mansion part.)
I just ran back to the room
behind the boxes with the first lever to open the gate. They followed me there but could not get to me through the small hole behind the boxes.Eventually they went away and I was able to sneek to the porthole and use the hell key and was transported back to the mansion.
OK..I finished it. I didn't realize the speedy sword dudes could be circumvented. I thought I would have to fight them. With that in mind I feel this was a great mission. Disreguard my earlier remarks.

I am stuck in a round hall, without my lockpicks: i can't neither open the metal grate, nor the chest on a stone pedestal...
Any suggestion?

R_G:
key to the chest is on the floor, partly under something. (lockpicks in chest).
Spoiler request.
What to do in the room where the
thief just vanishes? There's a skull in that room that I have to active somehow..but how?
Nameless Voice on 10/6/2007 at 00:00
You need to put the dagger you took out of the skull in the other room into it.
Kaleid on 10/6/2007 at 00:18
Thanks, didn't even think about going there.. :weird:

I did not think it was bad, as a matter a fact this one did actually spook me and had some great ideas implemented into it but the super fast swordmen were just too crazy fast. They killed the fun for me. I couldn't even see the guy killing me. I think the author would have done this mission better by maybe making them very hard to kill instead of so fast you cant even ...like I said , I couldn't even get my sword in the air before being speed slashed let alone get the door open. I even tried what slugs said and stood at the side of the door to open it and they came runing out like they could see me through the wall. One of them was trying to run through the door before I even opened it. Maybe there will be a version 2 with something a bit different.
Solution/Explanation:
The author intended the player to enter the rooms in a certain order. Listen for the music that's playing, which you can easily hear will come from a particular room, enter that room, repeat, until you've entered the 4th and last room with the key to the centre door. The sound works fine on my computer and i can easily hear what room the music is coming from.
