Quite interesting. He does look like Max, but I am really iffy about his acting skills. Could he pull of the role, in it's all over-the-top melancholy, good enough? Of course, the movie probably kills the things that made Max Payne good, the Noir influences and the cartoon-ish elements.

The prospect of the movie caused turgid prose to rain down from the night sky like so many fallen angels - How could I go on?

With the right director and the right script, Mark Wahlberg is a pretty good actor. I think he could pull it off. However, I also think that they're in a bit of a quandary: if they go for the over-the-top noir pathos, the film will veer into parody, but if they don't, then it's no longer Max Payne. It's almost impossible to get the balance right, I'd say.

The production has been halted, they need something like 2000 quid and cant get it from anywhere. I love max payne and i hope this movie will come out and retain the darkness that the games have.
On this topic, is there going to be a max payne 3, i mean i know remedy are busy with Alan Wake, but what about after that?

Not by Remedy there isn't, they sold the rights to Rockstar ages ago. Supposedly the team that made Bully is working on Max Payne 3,

got a source for that?
anyway mark wahlberg seems a decent choice. i hope this goes somewhere, and i hope they make it film noir like it's supposed to be.

I have the urge to fire up photoshop and rip an old Marky Mark underwear shot into one of the graphic novel scenes for maximum justice but I lack the talent and the application.
