I really don't see why a game like Path of Neo couldn't have just used the MAX-FX engine.
Because it was cheaper to just use Atari's shared in-house engine?

Cheaper, yeah, but you'd think they'd work harder on bug fixing.

The movie has me wanting to reinstall and replay both games.

I've been doing that, haha. I'm looking to finish up MP2 tonight.

Meh, I liked the first trailer better.
I could have done without the singing. The music works much better alone, in my opinion.

It just hit me.
Wait, what the fuck?
THEY HAD A PERFECTLY FINE PLOT FROM START TO FINISH
IT EVEN HAD A GOOFY CONSPIRACY THEORY TO TIE IT ALL TOGETHER
WHERE THE CORNFLOWER BLUE FUCK DO WINGED FUCKING MONSTERS COME FROM

Remember when the junkies would shout about "THE FLESH OF FALLEN ANGELS!!!!!!1"?
That's where.
People are still saying those are just drug-induced visions in the movie, but i'm not so sure, seems to me like they really are introducing a supernatural element :/

From the same place that all that raining blood and weapon statistics hanging in mid-air came from? Didn't you say that you just played through the games? Were you paying attention at all?
june gloom on 4/9/2008 at 09:16
Of course I paid attention, jizzgenius. In case you haven't noticed, I do not place much stock in the "it's just the junkie hallucinations" theory because I actually read the synopsis of this fucking movie. It looks to be, basically, The Matrix meets Constantine with no Keanu Reeves.
And that pisses me off.

OK, found this quote by Wahlberg:
Quote:
The hallucinations are a side-effect of this drug that’s been leaked onto the streets,” says Wahlberg. “A lot of the conspiracy comes from that: Max finds out that it’s a drug tested by the military to create super-soldiers, but someone has flooded the streets with it. It makes crack look like chocolate. He has to take it to keep up with the fight. But yeah, there’s a definite theme of Max fighting the devils inside. There’s a lot of action in this movie, but there’s also plenty of emotion and psychology. It goes pretty deep.
Demons out, super-soldiers in. Yay.
