Me and The Cradle - this won't end well... - by Motley Fool

MF you know another good way to approach the cradle is in small doses. what I did: I played at night with the lights out and everything quiet after the wife and kids had gone to bed, but I had the lights on in the kitchen and some music ready to play. whenever it got to be too much I opened up the menue to pause the game and took a pop-corn break. I ate a lot of pop-corn that night. seriously though do have the sound on if you turn off the sound you'll miss most of the stuff that makes the level so good. lights on or off as you prefer but keep the sound. and don't skip the level no matter what it's worth a bit of a scare to see this level. take it slow, take breaks, you can do it!

I'm sure there's a fence who'll take human remains somewhere in The City... maybe the one in Auldale. He was a creepy little bastard.
That's how I got rid of my brother.... ;)

That's what I'm doing at the moment - I play all the levels with creepy characters in them in "Girly Wuss" style. It's taken me three evenings to get as far as opening the portcullis into the Inner Cradle, and I lose my nerve when it gets really dark outside. I've also turned the sound down - not off entirely, because I appreciate that sound is essential to the experience, but having it loud just creeped me out too much.
I'm consoling myself with the thought that those of us who find The Cradle altogether terrifying are more engaged with and immersed in the game, than those who say things like "only 13-year-olds are scared of zombies". :p
A question about the storm cellar:
Does entering the small cage that the girl warns you not to enter make any difference to the outcome of this level?
I wouldn't do it. If something looks scary, and you can avoid it, DO IT!
As much as I'd like to provide you with a real answer, I'm afraid I cannot do that. A spoiler tag is pointless in this, because you need an answer.
But, in any case, I'm too freaked to go in there.

Heck, when she said "thats the staff tower. nobody is allowed up there" I ran like hell past it. So far I've never seen whats there in the "present" time.

Yikes! That sounds like I'm going to end up having to play it TWICE! :weird: :eww:

Do so. You'll be surprised.
Wasn't it sealed off?
Funny, I was scared s**tless, but when she said "nobody is allowed in there" for the first time, I just took out the flashbangs and went in aking myself "I wonder if I want to know why..."

Follow what she tells you and you'll be all good, and away from heart attacks, ok?

I think I'm going to have to play it during the daylight hours only, with sunlight streaming through the windows and the soothing sounds of Bach coming from my radio. Plus I'll turn off my computer speakers. :cheeky: THEN maybe I'll be able to handle it.
When i first played the Cradle mission,it was in the morning,my family was near to me,i could hear them, but I was scared like hell,so the daylight wont save u:ebil:
