Me and The Cradle - this won't end well... - by Motley Fool

Nothing can save you from the cradle. Oh yeah, I went up the staff tower in the present. Pity, it would have been better if something more deadly stopped you, like the entire thing falling down on your head if you didnt get out in time

Funny, I was scared s**tless, but when she said "nobody is allowed in there" for the first time, I just took out the flashbangs and went in aking myself "I wonder if I want to know why..."
Same here. Curiousity doesn't always kill the cat...

because satisfaction brought it back (the lesser known other half of the saying)

Ahh c'mon. The Cradle is a beautiful level. Filled with gorgeous artwork, lovely ambience and a compelling backstory. Hehe

Like the ocean, beautiful, deadly, an experience like no other. 'cept the Cradle has a lot more people scared of it.

-Play it in the dark
-Play it with sound the whole time
-Absolutely DO NOT read a walkthrough prior to playing through it, it will ruin lots of the story for you
-We are here for you if you need a support group
I didn't do the first three so the Cradle wasn't as good. It was still scary as hell, and fun, but it would have been 100000x better if I hadn't spoiled it for myself.
I guarentee, if you survive the whole level, you'll feel that you really accomplished something.

That's exactly how I played it the first time.
Then, I played it without sound and was happier.

My humiliating Cradle confession ...
OK, I DID play in the dark, and I DID have sound on (albeit turned down a bit ;) ), and I'd tried my best to avoid reading any threads on the subject. BUT - I inadvertently learned that the mission contained some scary entities called "puppets" .... so I spent the whole of the second part thinking that I was about to encounter something EVEN WORSE than those horrible zombie-like former residents, and trying to conserve my stock of weapons for this eventuality. And worse still, when I went up King No One's elevator and saw the suspended dummy ... I thought THAT was a puppet, and spent quite a while circling it in trepidation, waiting for it to launch an attack! :erm:
I did that last bit too. :D

My Cradle confession?
First time I played, I got up to the cellar door, opened it up, then got freaked out by the sounds and quit the game. Seriously.
I managed to work up my nerve though and played again later in the dark with headphones and made my way through the level. Over the course of 3 days :p
