Mech Angelo has been updated:
[INDENT]
* The lava is now lava, not just red water.
* Once you drop the artist in his room, you can't pick him up again.
* The secrets count problem has been fixed.
* Sounds have been added to the talismans when picking them up.
* If you "steal" the artist's money after dropping it on the dresser, the objective will un-tick itself.
* ReadMe files and movies updated.

As far as the movies making the game crash, this must be a driver problem. I think one beta tester reported this, but the others had no problems. I would encourage you to play the movies with whatever software you normally use. They'll help wrap up the end story.

Such an interesting and beautiful mission! I had great time climbing the elephant and exploring the area. The talismans gate, statues, lava room looking so pretty!
I even didnt need any hints and spoilers. That's fantastic!
This mission go directly in to my "Favorite Mission List".
Thank you so much for creating this little gem!

Guilty as charged but I've now worked out why. Being totally paranoid about losing my Thief, I have
3 disc sets and 4 copies on my hard drive. But to save space I removed all the movies from 3 copies. When I took a copy to put on this pc, I took one which didn't have all the necessary movie stuff installed. One of these days I'll figure out the thread about making copies with minimum space.

I've been to the crypt and found the scepter, but I haven't found the painter or the key to his room. Where is he? Also, is there a hint to the combination lock somewhere?

Jah: search carefully the place with scepter

More details, please.

The code for the combination lock is in the Reverend's office which you can get to from his bedroom. The key to his room is where you found the sceptre.
Once you have that you'll be able to find Mech Angelo and the key to his room.

Look closer on the altar where you picked up the scepter.

I have to give credit to Freddy Fox for the talismans gate. I had so much trouble getting the setup right that I just scrapped it all. The mission was almost ready for public release and he offered his expertise. What blew me away was how simple his setup was. Other FMs using the talisman lock system looked like string physics were employed to set them up.
Thanks FFox!

I had been to the Reverend's office, but missed the note behind the desk.
