Duchamp's style and 'art for the sake of art' (if that means anything, which it doesn't) are almost polar opposites. Nothing in this thread clearly fits in either of these categories, even the Gothic cab. The steampunk PCs are as much about the makers' skill and craft as they are about showmanship and the steampunk aesthetic.

My old laptop sounds like a vacuum cleaner... does that count? I've never seen any smoke come out of the thing, but I had a monitor start smoking once!
