Sorry, but I don't understand what you are meaning.
If people are playing the new game they're less likely to make FM's for the others

I got the TDP demo, game, and T2 as soon as they came out...but it wasn't until I was around mid-way through playing T2 that I think I looked up fan missions. I was also playing the System Shock games and Homeworld around that time too, though so my time was split. Anyway, I found TTLG, The Circle, and a whole bunch of community-made music. Fell in love with the games all over again...somewhere in the archives im sure someone can find the times for Lord Bafford's Manor...I think Lytha held the fastest speedrun time for awhile. :thumb: was always my favourite emoticon. Thief 4 came on sale on steam and I figred I might as well fire up TTLG again! ...now if only they did a System Shock reboot...
[EDIT]
I think the thread I kept up with the most was probably the most hilarious, long-running, and forum be-devilling.
"1000 ways to know you play Thief too much"

"1000 ways to know you play Thief too much"That's also one one my old favorites. It's up to (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11874&page=65&p=2191931&viewfull=1#post2191931) #3598 now, but no one has added anything since June 8th, 2013.
I've been spending way too much time Dromeding. If I were to add one, it would be: Having dreams of using Dromed where I'm testing my Thief mission and even going to the forums for help in the dream.

Something that seems to have been a part of the forums in its early days was the idea that Thief was a shared world - that not only did FMs take place in the same universe as the original games, but they also co-existed with each other. They got cross-referenced an awful lot in some of those mission - the Order of the Vine cropping up in one mission, and the events of Lampfire Hills in another... CoSaS started out as some kind of worldbuilding/shared world exercise as well. I guess now with 1000+ missions, it is impossible to rationalise they could all describe a common setting with common characters. People still reference Benny or Basso, but they don't do that much with each other's ideas.
This was before I was active, so who knows, it might just be my projection.

The Order of the Vine was referenced in Assassins so it's not a fan idea.
