Is there a list of the stock AI mesh textures available ??, I cant find mesh.crf...I have a hex editor but when I drag one of the .bin files into it I get a heap of undecipherable information that is well beyond my abilities.
Thank you.

Look in your RES folder and find mesh.crf. Right click and open with your ZIP program. Find the .bin file in there that is the model you're looking for. Drag it somewhere and then right-click and open it in Notepad. Check Format > Word Wrap and you should see one or more texture names near the top. That's the texture you enter into Mesh Textures on the first line.
If you want the stock mesh textures, you can drag the entire txt16 folder from the CRF file somewhere to browse.

That Works nicely thank you.
I now have a sub archetype made from a FemaleNoble4 the model name was chanced to femsun1 and then the meshtex has Noble02.gif in the top box and in the replacement box there is veaif2a.png and all is fine, now if I try changing the replacement to veifa2c.png (black dress version) the dresss does not change and the warning in mono says "meshtex: can't find texture NobleW02.gif for object An Aristo1 <351>" ummm, now I'm totally confused.

Well, just looking at the texture names you wrote in that post, they are spelled differently:
veaif2a
veifa2c
If the only thing that was supposed to be different is the last letter (from "a" to "c"), then there's your problem.
Ravenhook on 7/3/2017 at 17:26
It is veaif2a...I'm getting worse as I get older with putting letters the wrong way around but in these cases they are right in dromed..I just got it muddled writing it on this thread.:p
Changing the end letter to c still has no effect and displays the warning I noted.

Yeah, I do the same thing more and more often. Okay, I just want to be sure I understand something. You said you created an archetype under FemaleNoble4, right? What object did you use? I mean when you created the archetype, which .bin file did you point to? I ask because you said that in Mesh Textures you used Noble02.gif for the Texture in Model box. I assume you meant NobleW02.gif?
However, FemaleNoble4 uses noblew04.bin, and the texture it uses is NobleW04.gif. So if you are using noblew04.bin in your new archetype, then the entry in the Texture in Model box on top should be NobleW04.gif.

Ah..um when I created the new archetype I did this:-
physical/creature/animal/human/bystander/aristo/FemaleNoble...highlighted FemaleNoble and clicked add and used this as the base model...I guess I should have picked eithe FemaleNoble2, FemaleNoble3 or Female Noble4 and hsed one of those as the base model??
Tannar on 7/3/2017 at 18:55
No, there is no problem with doing it the way you did it, but when you used FemaleNoble as a base model, what you are really using is FemaleNoble1. It isn't listed in the hierarchy as "1", but if you look at the entries below it you'll see they are just FemaleNoble2, 3, and 4. So, the .bin file that FemaleNoble uses in noblew01.bin, and the texture that file uses is NobleW01.gif, so that is what should go into the top Texture in Model box.
But just to be certain, go to your newly created archetype, select it and click EDIT. In the properties that come up, find Shape, and see what the model name is.

Please be patient with me Tannar as this may take a while, I have found out where the problem regarding the yellow errors was...Purgator named those skins exactly the same as the originals except he changed the originals end from a .bmp to a .png...so what I did was to make a new archetype and named it FatNoble_1 then put in it's model name in shape as femsun1, I then created one and had the girl in the red dress..now this model according to it's .bin file uses the texture veaif2a.bmp so in the meshtex box I put in veaif2a.bmp in the top slot and veaif2ad.png which is the correct title for the black dress texture...no irritating yellow warning but no black dress either, it just stays red.
