Are you referring to the MSX game or Metal Gear
Solid 2?
The MSX one. It's basically Metal Gear Solid eight years before Metal Gear Solid.

Yeah MG2 is pretty sweet. I was glad Ghost Babel (the Gameboy Colour MG) followed in its stylistic footsteps.

Oh yeah, Ghost Babel. Another criminally underrated title for the Game Boy.
I wish Konami would have made a sequel to this one. A MG2 remake using the same engine would have been nice as well, as it featured a superior control scheme.

Can't wait to play the original MSX Metal Gear games, huzzah!
But they are included in the third disc of Subsistence.

In a related topic, I found a patch that reenables hardware mode in MGS1 on pc. I am whole again.
Oh, can you PM me the link, please:o?
MGS doesn't like my PC(vid card is too new apparently).

For someone who doesn't have a Playstation/2 or a Gamecube, the PC version (or an emulator, they're further along than I realized) works just as well- which is funny considering how poorly the PC version was recieved originally.

MGS3 is far from perfect if emulated, and requires really fast computer. Also, a game controller capable of all abilities of Dualshock2/3 (analog sensitivity of all buttons/sticks) is required to enjoy the game.
Yesterday, I restarted Bolshaya Past South area for like 15-20 times (on hard) in my attempt to interrogate all the enemies on the map and then hold them up on the ground without alerts - damn hard .

Not quite underrated (it was rated very highly) as much as under-appreciated. I liked it very much; it might be due for a replay sometime soon.
If you can stand the sunlight mechanic, the Boktai games are somewhat similar. The DS Lunar Knights is pretty much the same thing again, except a little more action focus (and a virtual sun rather than the real one).

Yeah, I wish Metal Gear Ac!d could have been a continuation of Ghost Babel instead of going for an unrelated plot with card-based gameplay. I got a PSP, but I'm still unsure if I should give this series a shot. It might be good, but it looks just weird...
And speaking of weird, Metal Gear Ac!d 1 is pretty much the only PSP Metal Gear game I can find here in downtown Ottawa. Yep, no MGA2 or even MGSPO (only the Plus edition).
As for Boktai, well, the gameplay's fine and I don't mind the sunlight mechanic (find it kinda clever actually), but I'm pretty much allergic to the art style. It feels just... wrong for a game where you go around killing vampires and undead creatures. Plus the story didn't look that interesting either.
