As entertaining as I'm finding the exchanges in this thread, I do have a serious question regarding the game. *Ahem* Wtf is going on with the blurring every time my character turns or moves? I've got the 'motion blur' option turned waaay down to minimum, but I'm still getting a tad dizzy whenever Artyom walks a few paces. I don't suffer from motion sickness in RL, but am beginning to sympathize with those who do; that's how distracting all this blurring is for me. It feels as though Artyom is moving through molasses every time he walks or turns as well. Help, anyone?

I tried the game this afternoon. (I still have it installed). I have played on Very High settings. With Motion Blur set to Low. When I played the game, I didn't notice any weird blurring.
One thing that happens in games these days is: the Anti-Aliasing is bad. Many games do "deferred rendering". And the "old" forms of AA don't work anymore. E.g. MSAA, which was normally used. Games nowadays use FXAA (which is nVidia-specific) or MLAA (AMD's flavor of FXAA). I believe FXAA is used in most Xbox-games, that's why it's become so popular. FXAA turns everything into a blurry mess. I don't like it. And there's also "pixel creep", which happens with AA when you move the camera (e.g. just look around). Some lines seem to "shimmer". Skyrim had that problem on my screen.
That's why I started to use SMAA.

(

SMAA comes in the form of an injector. That's a DLL file, with a bunch of config files, that you just copy/drop into the folder where the game's main executable is. The game will bind itself to the DLL, and some (rendering) functions will be taken over by the SMAA DLL. Easy and simple. And works very well.
There is also SweetFX.
I used that for playing Metro Last Light.
It's also an injector (DLL with config files). But it does more than just SMAA. E.g. on top of doing SMAA it also does sharpening. You can change colors, shadows, contrast, etc. Very powerful. Unfortunately it's not always easy to create a good config yourself. That's why I usually google and use someone else's SweetFX settings. (I found a really nice one for Dishonored).
Maybe it was the SweetFX (and SMAA) that removed the bluriness in Metro Last Light for me. I don't know. If you wanna give it a try, let me know. And I'll upload the files somewhere for you.

I've heard a lot of good things about this saga, game and books included.
Does it feel like an ordinary FPS in terms of gameplay ? And how developed are the stealth possibilities?
I like the particular post-apocalyptic context that it presents, that's why it draw my attention

Closest cousin is Half Life 2, but there's a lot of RPG-ish elements going on, and there is also a pretty decent stealth system, so there are some marked differences. Firstly, there are shops where you can sell and buy stuff. You are not going to be able to just find everything you need. Second, you and your gas mask have a pretty close relationship - you need to buy or find filters for it, you need to replace it if it gets cracked, you need to wipe it every so often if you want to see out of it. Thirdly, stealth is very definitely an option, and seems a very sensible one. You can't always avoid combat, but you can definitely make it on your terms by getting silencers and nightsights for your guns and sticking to the shadows. But other than that it's basically a spectacle-shooter, but not in shitty way the new COD games are. It's rad.

one objection: as in metro 2033, you can find ANY gun and ANY mod in the gameworld without having to buy them at all (don't know about preorder-DLC stuff, that I guess not)
