Not a bad game, per se, but very overly heavy-handed on the plot gates and the irrelevant computer-related samus monologues. And those are the parts they're alluding to.
I never minded those. Their implementation was logical enough for a video game. Plus it's cool to finally be given a sense of purpose in a video game. It makes it more compelling.
Super Metroid is great, but honestly I could care less about the paper-thin plot. The whole game is pretty much a enhanced remake of the original game.

No, Zero Mission is an enhanced remake. Super Metroid is an actual sequel.

I think he meant that Super Metroid was "PRETTY MUCH" a remake of the original and not a real remake.

Except it's not.

I think it's different enough to stand on its own. Also, being about a million times better doesn't hurt.

Thank you.

"It's a remake, but not a real remake."
Make up your goddamn minds.

Dude, it's not that hard to understand.
Super Metroid is like Evil Dead II: it's both a sequel AND an enhanced remake.
Phatose on 13/6/2009 at 00:15
No, it's just a sequel. It's not a remake, pretty much or otherwise, it's a sequel. Calling sequels something other then sequels because they happen to be a lot like their predecessors is insane, because the whole point of sequels is that they are a lot like their predecessors.
