Microsoft patents not letting you play games and teasing you because you're fat - by PeeperStorm

Jesus, people, it's a patent, not the foundation for a gaming revolution. Most of these things are never even used. Chill out.

Linking one's gaming avatar to one's physique, explains Microsoft, will produce healthy and virtuous behaviors in individuals
Its more likely that it will produce gamers who don't buy your games.

Gotta love the part in the patent that suggests modifying the avatar based on "physical and mental disabilities".
"We're sorry you lost you legs in a car accident, but we all know adventurers can walk, therefore we are allocating your job class to "Stationary Quest Giver". You are still required to pay the $12.95/month fee."
Yes it is likely it will never get used, but someone needs to slap the guy that thought of it. I can think of a titanium ear wax picker, that doesn't mean I should go and patent it.

I love the wow death panel tag.

Let's face it, you're all afraid of this because you're porkers.
PeeperStorm on 25/12/2009 at 19:43
No, I'm afraid of it because my avatar would look like a drunken redneck in a jail cell wearing a Sailor Moon costume and operating a video switcher.

Or you could get cyborg legs.
Next it'll be telling you that you can't be a wizard because the results of your maths tests in school didn't show you to be smart enough.

Although I detest Microsoft, I can't help but wish they'd done this years ago. If MS had implemented something like this, I would be happily playing Duke Nukem Forever right now. Please put down the bag of Cheet-os, turn off the XBOX and finish the game!!!

I think you forgot the dollar sign in Microsoft.
