Mine Shock, Main shock . . . whatever! Just get me past the first doors! - by taffedinthehead

Unfortunately the problem rests in the "mis" file which is practically the whole level. As for the unfrobbable switch, who knows if that wasn't meant to be like that? Like you said, JIS is a sneaky taffer and its Thief 1 we're talking about with some completely dark corners that could have a hidden switch. Whatever, without permission from the author, we can't do a thing unfortunately (though i could have sworn that someone had fixed "Lady Sakura's Dragon Eye" 2 years ago? ) There are few missions that suffer from that little problem besides that one, perhaps 4 or 5 more but seriously, that small procedure i mentioned is a piece of cake (even if you do not know anything from the editor). It's nothing to be worried about, i'm talking about 2 minutes max here. Do try it. Oh well, i really miss JIS and his missions tbh. :(

This mission is simply not finished. I checked the mission quest data and found no objectives. This place is fairly big but only if you use Dromed. :( There is simply no way to get to the other areas. There are 4 seperate sections all unlinked to each other without teleport traps or anything. Some doors have no link data at all. Which means they can never be opened. Alot of the rooms have no sound. The architecture is impressive and reminds me of the T2 version. Many areas arent even in T2 as well. Kind of like the differences between Elevator 1 and 2. Not sure why he got this far and quit. No more than a months work I think.

Somebody took contact with JIS like a year ago. After a short time e-correspondence, JIS said that he was quitting dromeding and said farewell to the community. So he's not going to fix his missions anytime soon, if ever.
I can't remember the taffer's nick who took contact. Anyone else?

Is there a ghosting cheat in Thief that can be used to get to these areas?
I gotta tell you, I loved the infinite mines! That was pretty cool just dropping dozens of them at a time and creating a cloud of fire! I wish someone would incorporate that into another FM!

Not sure what a ghosting cheat is but the only way to get to the other areas is either update this one or use Dromed.
There is a lockbox on the beam above the lava pit, you need to rope arrow up to it and while on the rope unlock the box to get into the last room possible.
Not sure spoiling was necessary since you cant beat it, but that will get you as far as possible.
Edit: Reading previous posts over again I realized that there are 3 seperate sections instead of 4. How did I miss that
statue secret
. Im going to scan this more thorough now and see if I can come up with anything else.
Edit again: No more than I can see, since it (seems :erm: ) easy enough Ive started to finish this up myself. Im thinking of giving it one objective and that would be to get to a final room. Should I leave Garrett invincible while Im at it.

I am thrilled that you decided to finish it, Vlad. If you need a tester, you know who to contact. :D
If you do not leave Garrett invincible, then you may need some tuning of the game play and AI patrols so more people can get through it. Frankly, I think that invincibility aspect is an interesting feature. To leave it that way keeps JIS' (apparent) concept of the mission, which is always a good thing. Only with this feature can you experience the extreme fire storm of multiple mines exploding around you, which is something unique, if not quite Thiefly. In comparison, the T2 version, which is somewhat similar in the interior, is mainly exploration and is more sterile. So it makes sense to me to keep them different. You could always add an optional objective to stay alive. :)

The author deliberately added the "FrobInert" meta property to all the loot, but forgot to remove the loot value, so Unna's dml above is incorrect, no loot is meant to be available
