Wow, I really hope this enforced bed-using dies out. It was really irritating last night playing and constantly being told to get into a bed when it was night. Can't you pussies just get through the night?
If it's really that much of an issue, can we just mod the server to either remove mobs or stop the day/night cycle? Or adjust the ratio of day to night. Its really not much fun when you're in the middle of something and you're far from a bed and get a faceful of go-to-bed-spam. Personally, I'm quite happy to work through the night.

Jeez, just take a bed with you. If it bugs you that fucking much I'll fucking make you one.

Personally I've got nothing against the night.
I work underground mostly as of late, so I get my fair share of monsters anyhow :)
Though if it's possible to change the ratio of day/night that would also be sweet.
:D

Ingenious. So the water doesn't un-till the dirt?

Interesting - I thought that using water that way didn't give you seeds but I must have been misinformed (or they changed it).

Nope, drops everything just as you would have regularly.
I'm surprised you guys dont know more about these autofarmers! There are a few different ways to get this done, some prefer using a row of pistons as shears, etc. However, the water flow wheat farm is probably the biggest possible farm automation. The pictures there only show what has been converted s ofar, which is to say, a bit less than half.
This farm works simply: At the very top of the hill is a water source block that is blocked off by a piston. Upon the simuli, the piston moves and water get channelled properly in order to cover all the land, breaking up the wheat and moving the drops down with the flood).
