I've had an aggravating crashing bug occur repeatedly since this release; if I stand in close proximity to any other player for long enough my renderer gives out and I'm met with that tiled dirt texture screen you get when loading in. The crash happens almost instantly if I actually physically nudge someone.
Anyone else experience this?

Also, discussing the newly hired AI programmer for Mojang... can you imagine smart creepers? :( You hear a noise, you look to your left, down the hall, a creeper casually pokes his face around the corner. You stare for a while, its not advancing... ok.... you mine a little, glance back at the creeper and catch it rushing back behind the corner.... alrighty then.... keep mining, glance at creeper again... OH HAI *BOOM*.
This thought alone is scarier than all of Amnesia put together. :(

Mojang just had MineCon, and they were invited to do a panel. Then afterwards Notch complained on his twitter account that he'd never work with them again, they were all ego, they didn't do a proper panel, they dropped the "F-bomb", and weren't polite & humble like the rest of the Minecraft community (lol). He went on for like 4 or 5 posts.
I can imagine they were just being themselves with their dry British humor, and thought of themselves more as VIP guests than presenters so just did their usual schtick. And Notch is just awkward dealing with situations like that and just posts about everything; there's no filter. It should blow over.

Well, I was looking for the tweet but I think it might have been removed. Notch claimed that the Yogscast people:
* Talked shit about Mojang and were general pricks
* Claimed Minecraft is only popular thanks to them
* Told some kid that they would sign over Notchs signature with the word "fuck you" or something similar

Notch is basically drowing in cash anyway though, right? So it's not like he really has much to fear from negative press...
I've been getting back into this since I decided I had far too much other shit to do and all my existing procrastination techniques weren't working, so I might swing by possibly maybe (minecraft name: dr_dumb_lunatic)..though I'm currently trying to just get the hang of all the new stuff (so many thanks for the enchant calc link). Mind you, I haven't managed to even build an enchanting altar yet: either they've changed the frequency of diamonds or I've just generated a map with the worst spawnpoint ever. I've now excavated a cave (about 3 blocks above bedrock) big enough to grow a fucking forest in, I have five double chests full of cobblestone, and I've found...two diamonds.:mad:

I am loving the way apparent light radius gets smaller and smaller as you go deeper though. Fuck me, that's terrifying.
