Hmm, if we ever get the Nether region :cheeky: included maybe have BH's and Necival's server working in tandem?
The Alchemist on 25/12/2010 at 21:20
Sure, whatever, I don't care. I just want the community to stay united. I'm glad BH has decided to go Survival, and I hope everyone gets in on it, sure its harder now but that just makes the accomplishments more epic. If we can make Necivals server the Nether region, that would be great, I just dont like the feeling of the splintered community. United we stand, divided we fall.
I know Necival enjoys hosting but if it doesnt provide a community, it doesnt earn its take. I rather not be OP in a full server than be op in an empty server (if that were the case, I'm not saying it is.) The only reason we ever started another server anyway was to use the updates and play without exploits.

I agree with Alch. One community, one server.
:)
The more the merrier whether BH or nec's. As long as it's on survival mode, plz.

OT'ish: Oh, bob, before i forget - guess where this is going (bonus points if you guess at first line):
* so, i though i make an deep-underground path to your castle ...
* ... set a temporary compass marker at your castle (tiny mod) ...
* ... starting right down the stairs under my mine (to ensure i am at the right depth while tunneling) ...
* ... dug a long tunnel straight towards you castle - found some diamonds - fell in lava but survived (O_O !) - until ...
* ... hit your mine - not good - decided to start tunneling up a few meters before your mine at a natural cave ...
* ... hit many emptied tunnels on my way up until ...
* ... "found" your staircase - not good at all - dug around it and continued up ...
* ... and found ... ?

Any hints? My moneys on "Creeper". Because every Minecraft story is about surprise creepers. Best enemy ever. I love the face on a creeper, because that's exactly the face you make when you turn around and see one. :DDDDDDDDDDDDDD
D:!

I said before, it was Notch's fault. :joke:
Edit:
Whilst searching your place I hear what I think is a slimer.

BH's server is back up. Looking for coal and waiting for the damn night to end since I joined at sunset.
Damn it. T hought survival was off because I was lonely. Then a few minutes later I hear a groan and I'm pushed into a lava field. Joining at night sucks ass.

Awesome, I'm in.
This IS BETA!
Server is running very well, can't wait to visit the old city!
Also, do you guys want a TeamSpeak server? I run TeamSpeak for Neciva, dont see why we cant run it for TTLG too. Are you guys interested? PM me for IP address and password.

Great! I already had loads of fun on Necival's server. I decided to go on a little mining expedition 'down south' (well, whatever is down on the map) to generate new terrain (Necival, at least I think it was, told me the metals yields would be higher on newly generated terrain). (What follows you can probably generally guess/skip if you've played this game.)
Two nights later (I'd made a temporary shelter on the way, near "The Museum of Impossible Things/Blocks" or something like that, do pay a visit if you're in the neighbourhood) I arrived at a huge cave entrance in the side of a hill. I dug a stairway in front of the cave and went straight down till I hit bedrock. Nine quatrillion stone pickaxes later and after a few close encounters with surprise lava (always a 'good sign' for diamonds apparently) and having gotten a little over 64 iron ore blocks, 50 something redstone, a few diamonds, and little gold and a lot of coal I decided to head back (was running out of picks & wood, still on near full health though), feeling lucky I got that without serious bodily harm and/or stumbling upon too many critters.
I was following the torches I'd left for breadcrumbs on my way back, and somehow I probably took a wrong turn somewhere, and ended up further than where I was. I got a hint when the forest I was walking through felt very unfamiliar (also, half a dozen creepers doing their creepy 'spot the careless minecrafter' dance). The creepers were quickly dispatched with the arrows I collected at zombe's awesome mob farm (btw thanks! :p). However, a few moments later I fell in the most perfectly concealed empty hill forest tile leading into a cavern, down to one and a half hearts. Realising I'd forgotten to bring food (I was going to be careful) and preferring not to go on a pig killing spree I suddenly realised I could craft a compass with the iron and redstone I'd collected. After digging myself inside the face of the cavern and crafting a furnace and compass I headed straight towards the needle, careful not to slip carelessly on the rocky terrain, but night was coming, so I made a little sandcastle. The following morning I removed a single sand block to check the position of the sun and all of a sudden a creeper rushed in, I panic-jumped out of the shelter and somehow survived the explosion. Down to half a heart I stuck to the water/ice as much as I could and a day trek later I made it back just in time. Dude, wow. And thus I learned the importance of navigation.

:)
So yes, it's updated. As tanz' said, chests are stored separately. I have a script to inspect them and remove them manually, but I don't think it's worth it. Basically, I'm asking people to play fair and not do anything that might be considered cheating.
We're testing it right now, and it would be nice to set some date soon for the official launch. Any ideas?
