Is it possible to move the spawn point to somewhere miles away from town in the middle of nowhere? That might help against griefers.

Christ. While a certain amount of torching and rebuilding is to be expected, we probably should be doing what we can to make this brand of "burn and run" griefing as difficult as possible. At the very least, the multiplayer address should be removed from the initial post where just anyone can see it.
I realize I'm using the word "we" liberally here, but I swear I'll log in soon and help you guys build some shit.

Yeah, I mean anyone who wants in can always PM me or anyone else here for the server address.
Mr.Duck on 29/9/2010 at 17:57
What I said before, lads....take off the addy from this thread and the other Minecraft thread.
Also, if anyone knows the name of one or more griefer, post'em here so there can be some banning.

Sounds like a plan.
I've edited the address out of the Briareos H's first post.

This sounds like a pretty good idea, especially since we can /sethome now. The only problem would be putting new legit players out there too.
Is there anyway to password protect the server?

Thought I'd cheer everyone up after last night's chicken massacre. BEHOLD, THE FORTRESS OF DOOOOOM

As you can see, it's nearly invisible from most angles. This is because of rebel trees! Get it, because they grow midair?

The entrance is quite glorious, if I do say so myself.

You can't see it from this picture, but on top of that massive boredom-inspired dirtpile is a tree. I wonder if it gets the moisture from the clouds below it? >:D

We tried putting a waterfall in here. It failed, so now the inside looks like someone got high and placed rocks randomly everywhere.

That's the first tree I planted. I don't know why, exactly, but the thing turned into some horrible, hideous monster. I'm considering taking it down, but I don't even want to look at it. Some things just aren't meant for this world. I'd burn it down, but that would just damage the other perfectly normal trees around and above it.

Nice screens Cokehead :)
Anti-griefing measures: still no whitelist/password protection.
Installed llamacraft's mod so that TNT doesn't have any effects server-side, flint & steel are harmless and lava too. It also allows buckets to work.
W.r.t. the server address, I'll let the mods here do as they please. This is out of my hands.
