Quick Question: can I transfer a singleplayer save into a mp server of my creation? It's probably been asked and answered before, but bugger all....a little help, plz :)

Im not sure, but what you could try is this.
>Open your server.properties file with notepad or another text editor
>Change level-name=xxxx, where xxxx is the name of your saved world.
>Save this file, copy your saved world into the same folder as the minecraft_server.exe
>Launch the server and try it.
Just an idea, I don't know if it will work but I guess it is worth a try?

Anyone checked out this MC-exclusive hosting service, (
http://www.servercraft.co/) Servercraft?
It actually looks pretty interesting.
What say you Nec and Briaeros?, if the price tag and services offered is right, wouldn't it be more efficient and cool to use such a service?
Just a humble suggestion :)

cool... I wonder how much control they give you (CB management, etc). also, you can copy the world map to your server folder, it should be able to import it, but the spawn point might not be the same... lol. or you could zip the files and I'll import it to my server (pending the following paragraph:)
anyway I moved at the beginning of may, I still have all the server files, but pretty much only sxerks ever went on it... so I haven't been running it (sorry sxerks!). If there's still people interested in playing on my server though, I can definitely set it up again.

It'd be cool if you poked around their services and see what you can and can't do with it. Maybe it's a better option rather than you hosting the server all by yourself? :D
Also, I'd be playing if you had the server back up :'(
Same with BH's server.

Server looks down again... and in need of an update. :erg:
I've marked a path in the nether from sneaksie's outpost to the bullshit bluffs outpost. I'll look into building a proper walkway soon. The travel time is crazy short.

Just restarted the server. The crash happened one hour ago. Still running 1.6.6 (has been for a few days), as I didn't find any update.
Overviewer is still off as I have no idea if it will handle nether correctly.
Oh and there has been a daily backup since the first (and only) crash, Duck. FYI I'm running a dedicated, virtual, datacenter-hosted server that would be situated between Tier 4 and Tier 5 of what Servercraft offers. Considering what the community donated and how much I added before and later, for the same performance I'm still running cheaper.
I'm wondering how they manage to avoid the dirty OOM crashes that happen once in a while on anodal, though,

Didn't meant backup, son. I meant back.....up....
:)
But, yay and stuff!
:D

Oh, alright then.
