The server's been struggling lately -- seems like it crashed again. Maybe it has to do with the nether?

Afraid so. I'm changing the memory allocated to Java so that it starts swapping instead of crashing, I don't know how much of an effect this will have.
I'm sorry.

Shit, don't feel sorry. You've been a trooper about hosting that server for a long while now. It is much appreciated!

They use some homemade player that excels at not working - was there anything interesting being said?

Just something about critical hits against monsters instead of making the game less annoying to play.

In regards to minecraft, yeah. More or less what was said right underneath the video too.

I've been toying with memory limits and CraftBukkit at anodal during the last few days. The notable effects for players should be less crashes in exchange of a few slowdowns once in a while, as well as a new batch of commands (use /help for the full list) including:
* /afk
* /list (or /playerlist)
* /mail
* /seen [player]
* /sethome
Mails are useful if you need to communicate with each other (or with me) while offline.
Setting your home somewhere allows you, when killed, to respawn in that place instead of the last bed you used. This will prevent respawning far away when your bed is destroyed or if you forgot to sleep. This is currently the only change affecting the gameplay compared to vanilla (don't hesitate to tell me if this annoys you in some way or another and why).
Now would be a good time for (reasonable) requests, if any.
BTW, (

Sounds good!;) Been missing the playerlist function.
Edit: I got on for a bit and got kicked a few times. I got some "java.net socket exception" recv failed message. Not sure what the deal is with that but thought I'd mention it.
Oh yeah, and I don't know if someone got on and griefed or if it was because of a creeper, but the skyway entrance shelter in boomtown is all messed up.

What does the /seen command do? Does it display when a player was last online?
