I turned off the map generation, not sure exactly why. I'll update it now (it should take a day or so) and bring back the daily update.
I think if the anodal is to be wiped, that ppl should be warned about the wipe. However, I feel that boom town should be left on the map still. That way, any one who wishes to keep their items safe from a server wipe should be aloud to place their items safely in boom town to prevent their items from being wiped along with the map. Maybe, a safe house or so?

http://anodal.org/minecraft/anodalmap.pngAbout the wipe: 1.8 will have a huge impact on terrain generation with villages, new dungeons and possibly updates of the cave generation algorithms. The only way we're going to enjoy this properly is to reset everything and start a new world.
Now, I don't want to make people unhappy so I'll try to save some of the existing buildings by copying areas from the old world to the new one but I'm certainly not going to save everything I find. Only people who
actively build on anodal will be able to ask me to try to save what they are working on. As for items, I'm not sure that's such a good idea. A complete start from ground zero is long overdue: this current terrain has been running for almost a year.
When we get a release date for 1.8, I'll start asking people about what they think.

Is there any way we could at least save the pyramid? I always thought that was an awesome landmark, and showing anyone our map you could see it really well.
Also, wow I hadn't seen that stuff at that part of the map you just showed.:o

The 1.8 Adventure update with exp and so on is completely optional, you don't need to use it, so it shouldn't affect your map. Btw, does anyone still play here? I would like to play with someone, PM me or reply thanks :D
