Hey Briareos H, can you post what (exact) technique you are going to use to copy over the chunks from one map to another? I'm thinking about doing the same thing to one of my worlds.

@Zerker: Dunno yet and I'm pretty out of touch with Minecraft, but isn't that just a matter of firing up MCEdit and copy/pasting some boxes?

That's more than I knew before ;) I'll look into MCEdit's capabilities and see how well it works for my needs.
