So here I am playing single player, I finally got a bow and some arrows so I decide to explore for a bit. The sun goes down and I find myself in a valley, which I know to be dangerous, because Creepers have no fear of heights... so I climb up to the very top and set some torches and just watch the commotion below. I spot some Endermen and wonder if I can agro them from this far, and sure enough, the bastard comes warping to my location, but two good shoots from the bow and they're down. Hardly scary. =/ So, after having cleared the area of endermen and creepers, I decide to go inspect this light that I see in the distance. I can't tell what is emitting it, and it's not a light I made so I tread down the mountain, and onto a grassy plane. As I approach the light, I finally realize what it is. A lava pit. So I walk up to it to take a closer look and I suddenly realize I'm standing in the middle of a field at midnight. So I glance around and make sure there's nothing near by. It's a plane so it's easy to tell. I look back at the lava pit and I hear SPLUNK and bam, I'm hit by an arrow, the force of which catapults me into the lava. I try to get out but it's too late, I've burnt to death and so have my tools. Since when are skeletons ninjas. :(

I read his post when he placed in that contest, but didn't remember the exact name of it. But what's crazy is I had it installed and used it quite a bit just because it's a top ranked pack on the main site; it could have been anybody's for all I knew... I didn't make the connection that "Eld" stood for our own Eldron, haha. Now I like it even more. Good work Eldron. :thumb:

So, 1.9-pre release is out. My impressions:
* 32bit jre5: instant access violation crash.
* 32bit jre6: all of the subsystems (sound, jvm, opengl) fail with "out of memory" error randomly.
* 64bit jre6: works ... fucking finally.
* the roses are back.
* i can not find any swamp biomes anymore.
* there are presumably quite a lot new mobs and stuff ... did not encounter any yet. too tired today to poke it any further.

Anybody willing to show me the ropes on all of these changes the game has had? I haven't really played since anodal was in its heyday. Preferably on anodal, but another server would work, I guess. Cheers.
