A peek at the site proper tells me it's down for maintenance. Or at least that's what the big word at the top says. The rest is all French.

This is a disaster. Everything is gone.
The partitions I added specifically for minecraft, the backup and my website have been dismounted and wiped. As of today, I can't pinpoint the exact cause of this. What I know is that one of my protection scripts (detect illegal access to some files) didn't do his job, and the remote backup of the minecraft partition wasn't yet operational so we have lost everything. I'm really, really distraught and deeply sorry.
I'm trying to get in touch with the hosting company to understand what happened and try to recover a backup. I'm not getting my hopes up.
I'll do what I can today to put everything again together (all the software is gone as well) to start a new server. I'll keep you posted.
@dethtoll the maintenance page is here when the webserver software itself doesn't find anything related to anodal.org on the hard disk

Holy shit. You mean someone hacked the server?
Or did the host just cock up during the latest maintenance round?

hacking: Unlikely, because there was other important data elsewhere on the server left untouched. But possible.

Don't worry about it. Everyone who plays SMP should know that it's alpha and wipes are inevitable be it from bugs, faulty hardware, or server shutdown. The good side is we can plan out the next server a lot better. Are we going for a Thief city or an Elderscrolls-ish landscape with our own builds scattered about?
Vote Dresden for City Planner '10.
Also, the memories are saved. I still have the vids I made of it. :D
