Carts work, animation works, boat animation works, but riding pigs is broken. You just stand at the location that you mounted the pig, and when you get off the pig, you are warped back to that location. These sentences seem so wrong. Fishing works, you can see other people's lure too. You can fish cows etc.
Also, power carts work. :D :D :D
Power cart also seems to reverse direction when it reaches end of track, so we can definitely make a metro-rail system for our town.

And confirmed that Cacti will kill the uber carts :) (and make it where you can pick em back up.... so long as the cacti doesnt kill it)
Edit: as much as hate the way it makes things work, boosters do work but they cant be longer than about 6 blocks or so. I hope notch really boosts the power of the "power" carts.
a long loop might be possible where carts are always on the move, so all you have to do is wait for an empty cart to come by and jump in, then jump out at your destination

zombe you make some great stuff but I am highly disappointed in these sort of mods. I don't like the idea of being able to fly. I don't know, maybe I'll get into it, but anything that works towards taking away from the difficulty, and therefore the accomplishment and value of our creations, seems ot be counter productive. Duping is ok because the amount of materials I use for something is so much that I would spend 3 times as much time simply collecting the items, but you know what, I'll be happy when duping is no longer possible. Then we will see what we can come up with, because we'll have to get especially creative and industrious. Perhaps a community effort to collect materials, and ratios.
But all these sort of mods kinda ruin it for me. Again, maybe if I try to make something particularly difficult and somehow the artistic/creative value of it outweighs the destruction of the tangible nature of the creation, I'll shine on it.
But you know what makes the TTLG server so great?
That you walk around and know that all the wonderfully creative and complex buildings and structures and whatever you see, was created by hand, block by block, without flying around or anything like that.Again, maybe I'm making excuses. I like to dupe. But I still think that the physical act of creation is necessary to contain the value of said creations. And when duping is removed, I'll embrace it. In fact, I'm still not decided if we should wipe again when duping is removed. Maybe not, maybe we establish our town and work our way upwards from that. I don't know, but I just think that being able to fly goes directly against what makes this game so great, and I want to hear what other people think.

More seriously, sorry for not updating earlier. I wish the auto-update would work already.
I added the mobs back in, tell me if they get annoying. The Alpha client update seems to run awfully bad on my laptop now. Still I don't usually play on this computer.
Also, here's my stance on cheating mods and duping: they are fine on the server until duping, mobs and health are fixed. After that, this is a RP server whether you like or not.
Though maybe we can imagine weeks where everyone could /item all kinds of stuff on a copy of the world? Any ideas?

It is a tad annoying to have to make a giant stack of earth/sand every time you want to take aerial photos, though (and concommitant destruction of it afterward). "A little to the left? *sigh* Ok..."
That'd be the sort of thing I'd use the fly hack for.

Until all client side cheats such as this and duping cannot be done, I really don't see what laws we should have, people are being creative anyway.
And until the day the server restarts again and is non-dupable, non-cheatable, full of creepers and you can actually die, then there's not much laws you can have in place other than not having people ruin others work.

Ok so apparently creepers are in now. Like all mobs they cannot be killed but they do explode instantly as soon as you get close to them. I suggest you remove them asap if it's possible or soon we won't have much of a city left.
