Health regenerates!
I've hurt myself to the point where I had only one heart left, and about a minute later my health meter was back to full. I watched it gradually fill up again, even. Weird.

Take enough damage and you're dead, though. That's the problem. I fell off my uni roof- bam, dead.

Yeah, believe me, I know. :(
It's still nice to have when a fall doesn't quite kill me.

I'm turning health back off for the time being, apparently I can do that with hMod. Tell me if everything's fine. MineCraft is very, very far from being stable and, while health didn't introduce many new bugs per se, it made existing bugs more apparent and a real chore.
Also a little clarification (though I've said it before): right now, we're playing a survival alpha game so much riddled with bugs that (almost) everyone's playing it like it's creative mode.
However, what I've always aimed for is a real survival server, where at first even building a simple house and keeping it safe is a challenge, where cooperation is rewarding, where some players specialize in farming while others hunt and gather cattle, where a real economy rises but also where the two halves of a server wage wars against each other's forts. I will listen and comply with peoples wishes as long as major bugs are not fixed - but then we're doing a real survival server at least for some time.
If you don't like it, play creative while you can. We'll discuss the possibility of two servers or separate sub-worlds when the time is right.
EDIT: removed useless condescension

Even with how well lit it is?
Spawn rules for slimes completely ignore light levels. Only depth is checked (must be 0-15 iirc).

Can't reconnect. Server needs updated?

The thing I like about the status quo is that people can play the game however they like. If they feel like playing creative mode, they can dupe and so on, if they feel like mining and crafting they can do that too -- but regardless of how we play, we all get to enjoy the company of other TTLG folk. :)
If we can accommodate every play style, survival included, that would be best IMHO.

yep, a city with walls, well lit, with us protectors traveling the wastes finding rare resources, visiting the nether, killing creepers while creatives play safely inside our city borders while handling the crops, making food in the kitchen and giving birth.

Just opting out of the birthing thing in case we start delegating roles.
