Man these last few posts made me LOL at work.
SMP works now. :) It doesn't seem very buggy anymore. Arrows work, explosion sounds/animations work for all clients, etc. However, you can still bug/die and have to del the character to be able to pick stuff up again. I've been playing on my friends private server since you guys dont do SMP, and we've had a good time defending our castle from the horde. I wish they spawned more, in fact.

I don't think beta in minecraft terms means feature-done.
There will be more stuff and features added after beta and even when it's considered "done"

He does not have much choice. He is months behind schedule already - could get sticky. He can expand it later - first he must prove that he can actually ship anything.
