I'm all about mining and farming so I might check the server out when I get a chance. Are you guys allowing the drop-tools-repairs-them glitch?
I think this should be prohibited too we might as well go all out and not half arse the survival aspect.
At least your character doesn't get hungry like that one hardcore rogue like....

Haha, just wait.

That's easy to say when no one except Boxsmith is playing creative anymore. So, nope, things are more akin to what Jason says: waiting until bugs are gone, switching to SMP, hoping that people won't be all gone until then.
He's not a ttlger, but eldestructo is usually there with me -- we build together.

Is (and has been for hours) survival server down - or is it just me?
Briareos H on 9/12/2010 at 12:58
Which one ?
zombe on 9/12/2010 at 13:55
Necival's. Wandered around in yours too - but was a bit empty and laggy (btw. is the server dedicated or does some other stuff also run there?).
Briareos H on 9/12/2010 at 14:21
A http server in a background with a few cgi, but mostly dedicated. It was lagging because I had just started a manual map refresh (it takes a lot of CPU power).
I suppose Alchy's server runs at home, so it'll be more powerful than mine but more prone to availability problems. If you're a regular on one server you can always fall back to the other, that's nice. However when Survival is really functional, we'd better decide on one and stick with it, the more people on the same server, the better.

Serverportals seems like a given though, since notch has hinted that it is how he'll solve the Hell issue, since the way he designed it is so that the server only runs one map at a time, and for hell two will be run, with portal-functionality allowing even cross-server travel.

That would be insanely awesome. Hello load balancing.
