He's running Ubuntu now but you still have to delete the char because the database error the Windows client created still exists on his account.
Also, I had a conversation with different people about item-drop-repair, and I figured it didn't add much "excitement" in terms of survival, becomes a chore, and just slows us down. I hate carrying 5 pickaxes... I think, however, that if you want diamonds, you earn them, at least the first time.
I'm glad to see the Community Chests filled with supplies, keep up the good work guys.

Well, you won't be able to drop-repair anymore with the server-side inventory update anyway.

Yeah, but until then im going to let that one slide. Once we have more resources, we can make our tools finite. I mean if you want to use item breaks you're more than welcome to, and I don't drop repair my steel sword/shovel/axe, I only do it on my diamond pickaxe, due to the lack of.
Which, btw, is what upset me so much about someone running around in diamond armor. Give me a break.
Edit: Also, Eldron, the other problem is this: I have no way of knowing if someone is drop reparing items, however i'ts obvious when you dupe materials. So basically we're best off winging it until it becomes server side.

Yep, it's as I've said earlier, duping is easily avoidable, dropping items is a part of the game, so it's not much that can be done about it until it is fixed.

Diamonds are not THAT hard to find (or i have been lucky) - have not used tool-drop-repair at all. Using diamond tools almost exclusively (iron for when digging a big hole - like my base). So far it has worked out - can recommend to try it yourself.
The only cheat i have used so far is cloning some saplings (less than what i have extracted manually tho) as i consider the non-decaying leaves bug to be ... um ... bug.

I had 12 non-duped diamond blocks on Anodal before I started getting lava-lag killed this week. Still have 9+ after remaking my tools several times. Have 2 stacks of non-duped non-farmed obsidian too, although I could fill up a few chests of that if I ever get around to farming it. Since the Halloween update I think rare materials (diamond/gold/clay) and water/lava combos are a bit more common.

And I'm happy with everyones input about drop repair. For now, since I cant administer it, the poly is just try and avoid it. Once server side inv is in, its obviously mandatory. So get to mining!
I'd also like to say that you guys have done a great job stocking up the public storage, and I'm going to make the adjacent wall another storage so we have more space, and I'll leave some spare ones if you want a place to keep your stuff, safe inside the castle.

Alchemist, may I ask for building permissions in your server? My ingame handle is "Zanchito", I had a look around with bob earlier today.
Also, are there any plans for resetting the map? Some servers are planning to do a clean wipe come beta on the 20th.
