Does it really? I haven't noticed any framerate difference whatsoever. :\
also, no pictures of the inside of my house? fine, I see how it is

Quandary looks really nice. I'll have to try it out.

Yup that's what I'm using. Really respectful of the original feel, and a bit slicker.
I don't have an internet access at the moment but as soon as it comes back (hopefully before the end of the month), I'm kicking all your houses' asses. Or more probably starting a weird and useless temple somewhere...

Speaking of that it's funny how much I want to build temples or shrines in interesting places. Is it that ingrained in human experience? I can completely picture the evolution of religion as some tribe trodges through boring flat plains for days and days and then suddenly stumbles onto some stunning hill side, how irresistible it must have felt to recognize it with some kind of shrine or something. After I first got settled in this game in single-player, I wanted to explore each of the 4 compass directions and find the most interesting thing in each direction and put a marker there, like a precious metal pillar with a shrine around it. Not even for anything; the place just seems to call for it.

That Quandry April texture pack with the Better Lighting MrMods thing is awesome. Thanks so much!
EDIT:
For your OSX people like me, if you want to force AntiAliasing it's a bit tricky. If you have the Apple Development tools installed, search for OpenGL Profiler and do the following:

Inline Image:
http://i55.tinypic.com/ama14z_th.jpgI simply added Minecraft, then those last two values in the bottom, kCCLPF. The 4 is the AA level. The 1 is always going to be 1. Also make sure to select Use custom Pixel Format. And bam, run Minecraft by hitting Launch and you'll be forcing 4x FSAA on Minecraft! I'm sorry if it seems complicated, it's the only way!
(Also MC seems to run a lot faster now, despite the fact that MrMod Better Lighting is supposed to make it go slower, and that AA should also decrease my frame rate... but I'm getting a steady 50fps...)

I've been using eldron's pack. I really like it.
On another note: We've been getting lag when people join or warp in the server BH, is that due to your server or can we blame that on the current version of minecraft?
And, might I add, it would be good if people warped less, at least until the lag is gone or not as bad.
Briareos H on 6/1/2011 at 16:27
Warp should be (correct me if it doesn't work) disabled for everyone except ops for moderation tasks e.g. greeting newcomers and showing them around or tracking griefers. IMO, no one playing survival should use warps as a way to get faster from one place to another, that's just cheating. I would prefer if ops used warping sparingly.
/home, OTOH, is something important that I wouldn't want to remove.
Also, the lag is probably halfway between the extremely poor optimisation of Minecraft and the fact that we're already running low on RAM.

Well I'm no admin , and I don't know what a "op" (operator?) is, but I've been able to warp. (I have green text for my name when I chat.)
Yes, /home is important.
Why would you think it's cheating? Walking miles is a pain, and there's no goal in this game yet, so there's nothing storywise preventing you from warping.
