Chunks not simulated do not add to lag. But i do suspect that the crapload of files and folders do eat up system resources and it MIGHT start to have huge effect at some point (i suspect the server to be virtual where minecraft's file-folder-shenanigans might hurt noticeably).
All speculations tho :/

I have a whole bunch of stacks in my house too -- not sure how many exactly, but there's a lot of clay.

http://i.imgur.com/cZIQDl.jpgOn topic of the wipe, I wasn't aware about the voting and the subsequent agreement to not use the old materials etc. My sincere apologies for that, I should've done more research to catch up with the server. In any case after reading Zombe's post on the last page I agree with him. We probably shouldn't consider wiping the server yet even if everyone wanted it since we might just have to do it again in a few days or weeks if we wanted to get the most out of the new updates (which hopefully will be picking up in speed). There should be one tomorrow by the way, it's been quite a while since the last one.
