No comment on the topic at hand, but if you want to change/edit the thread title, just go Edit, then "Go Advanced."

Yeah rumors about this have been buzzing around the gameosphere for the last week. That's half a billion over the estimated price though. Minecraft already exists on pretty much every system/device, and I don't think MS is quite evil enough to (or even able to) change the game as it is too much, or start introducing things like having to pay for skins on the PC version. But as for the future, I wouldn't be surprised if Minecraft 2 will be exclusive to XBone & Windows Phones. Seems like MS sorely needs some exclusives, if they're gonna keep up with the competish.

Wasn't notch critical of Facebook's purchase of Oculus? This purchase seems very similar.

He also stood to gain more than $1 billion (or more) from the deal.
Now contemplate what you wouldn't be willing to do for that amount of money. And try to be honest with yourself.

Not saying for a second I wouldn't do it - I would. But it's still somewhat hypocritical.

I'm trying to think of a counter argument, but basically my feelings diverge because I care about VR and do not care about Minecraft. :laff: Wonder if Notch feels similarly? *(
http://notch.net/2014/09/im-leaving-mojang/) reads* Heh: "I’m aware this goes against a lot of what I’ve said in public. I have no good response to that."
He doesn't want the responsibility. Can't say I blame him for that, either.

Eh, I can't fault Notch at all for this. He built his empire out of nothing but an idea for a cool videogame, and now the idea is done and he's stuck running a company he's not quite sure what to do with. If there's a way to quit that not only means he gets to take a boatload of money with him, but also means his employees get to keep their jobs? Well that's a win-win.
