I was back in briefly and it was working fine.
Spawn point was the same and everything was all still there.

How big are these maps, anyway?
Kind of infinite.

zombe, even though it's toned down, water is can be still rather annoying.
Compared to indev water - erm ... NO! :p Also, as flow blocks always have air pockets near the ceiling - it is impossible to accidentally drown yourself. But yeah - the new water has its own share of fun moments. Like accidentally falling in my mob drowner x_x

So I took like 8 buckets, ...
You need only 2 buckets of water to make an infinite water spring supply ;)

... due to a few little miscalculations on my part, the first thing that happened is that the ENTIRE structure filled with water.
Hehe :) I made a similar miscalculation ... but with lava ... didn't notice before how many flammable materials i had used :/

I would love to go and exterminate all the last of them suckers, but so far the winning strategy seems to be boldly running the heck away...
diamond sword takes them down in two hits - just be wary of the fuse time. I love creepers - there are not enough of them. I would love when there would exist some creeper dungeons => TNT farm.

Well, to be fair, getting multiplayer working (without outrageous bugs) would do this game wonders. After that the fluid systems could be still reworked I guess!
Could ... but i doubt it. The old way is just too easy for griefers to use. But i hope he finds the will to find a way :)

They can spawn anywhere where there's dark. That means pretty much anywhere at night and indoors, unless you are using torches or lava/magma to light the place up.
Ah freck. Would've been great to know this earlier!

Zombe, thanks for the tip. I created an infinite water supply after some trial and error (wiki seems to be down?), and I declared that the only fitting way for the world to end is being cleansed by a giant flood. One by my hands. :ebil:
Now the entire region around me is flooded properly. Currently working on a master plan that involves tall bridges and water springs on them. The world will burn. Or well, something like that. :p
I also seem to have some bum luck, cause I barely find any ore. Nor lava, even though I'm well beyond 25-30 block deep. Am I simply not deep enough? The mine already looks like Moria...

Exactly, they're not even trying something new, retards.

While I guess that is flattering, the fact that it also connects to Minecraft servers is just amazingly craptacular. So in short: about 2 hours ago via web
It'd be awesome if they took the elements they liked and made something new and interesting with it. But they're not. They're just copying. about 2 hours ago via web
I like clones. I like ideas getting spread around. It's good for the consumers and ensures progress. But Manic Digger is just a rip-off.
That and people who at the instant they see any kind of pricetag on something, will just hop on anything similar that is free.

Are people using the server given two pages back? 92.243.28.113:25565?
There's two servers mentioned in this thread:
Sinister Handed's:
76.176.132.159 Briareos H's:
anodal.org or
92.243.28.113:25565I believe people have been using both.
CocoClown on 18/8/2010 at 18:53
Cool. Managed to connect to Briareos H's. Sinister's is giving me a connection error.
Is it considered "rude" to go onto someone's server and write your name in multi-storey dirt letters?
If it is, then I've committed a Minecraft faux pas. Oops :)

Not so much "rude" as "retarded". If you want to crudely scrawl your name, that's what MS Paint is for.
CocoClown on 18/8/2010 at 20:37
I object to the implication that my writing was "crude". The lines were straight and everything.
