You guess wrong.
How do you know?
zombe - I'd love to take up your challenge but I'm unable to figure out where my folder is. Vista!

Don't have vista ... but it should be in something like:
C:\Users\****\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\saves

Challenge:
Find all unused diamond tools / items (9 total).
Find and get into three vaults (aptly named "vault A", "vault B" and "vault C").
Interesting idea, although your map does raise the question of how many hours you've spent - seriously, it's impressive! After getting acquainted with your spawn point (Again?) and following the long path back to your base underground, why did you settle on a location so far away? I can understand that you mined your way there, but why not just build nearer to your spawn point.
As far as the challenge is concerned, I have only got into Vault C and recovered the diamond hatchet (I'm assuming the sword inside the house entrance doesn't count as it's partially used?).

How long it took ... dunno - a few weeks. Probably more hours than could be considered healthy :/

It was actually the other way around. The beginning part of the game i intentionally did not settle anywhere - just sailing around, spending my nights in whatever dirt-hole i could muster ... till i build a little port for growing food and such (trimmed from map). So - i did not know where my spawnpoint was nor where to go from there when i died. Even after i finally settled at the current site i still managed to get lost when i inevitably died (hence the sign). From that, in a moment of frustration, the mentioned spawn-shelter and tunnel was started - took a while. Got quite a lot of loot on my way though. Among other things - raid 5..6 dungeons. (some of that part of the map got trimmed - there might be some odd regions because of that).
Oh ... and use the other route next time ;)

Quite surprised you found the hatchet as your first item - though that to be quite well hidden. And yes, that used sword does not count.
This looks neat :D ... please tell me you have something planned inside the smooth-stone part.

Not yet, no. All I've got in there is a flat platform in the middle, some torches(it's pitch black without them) and probably some temporary blocks. The whole thing started as a single 64-block-high pillar with some torches on it to help me find my way home. Then I figured I may as well make it into a tower, then came the floor at the middle, then the smoothstone part, then the fountains. Every addition was done pretty much spontaneously, so I'll probably find something new to add to it soon:D
BTW, I found your chestpiece, boots(your secret is safe with me;)), axe, hoe and shovel. I have NO IDEA where the rest of the stuff is. Nice idea, though!

Nice. You found all the items in main building and tree farm ... what about vaults? Presumably got into vault C - any other?
Hints (general area only) + spoiler hint:
* shovel - tree-farm - there is dirt below and there is dirt above it
* hatchet - mob-farm - there is a reason why it is unused
* pick - mob-farm - if you can not hide it behind anything - hide below - in water
* pants - mob-farm - hold your breath and down you go ... - ... where you normally would come up
* sword - mob-farm - mobs die there
* helm - sky-isle - there is a quite big secret compartment ... - ... with a window hole
* hoe - brick building - there was a use for it nearby some time ago
* boots - brick building - you have seen it - you just didn't realize it
* breastplate - brick building - diamond does not rust - up-up above the sea
All vaults are accessible from inside of brick building. Three vaults - with increasing size and exponential loot ... i mean ... how hard can it be !? :p

Wow, I hadn't realised he is making that much money on this. I mean, selling 3000 copies a month? That's 30 000 in a bloody month. Sure there's taxes and shit, but that's fairly interesting considering Minecraft is in ALPHA.

well, he did struck gameplay gold.
But I'm amazed at the nonexisting PR campaign just growing into existence from nothing, and valve's love for it pushing it further.
