It's part of the unfinished features in SMP, since Notch just barely pulled out that first version so people could test it while he was gone.
Most of the stuff that happens in the UI is even clientside atm.

Taxes are pretty much around 40% on that here in sweden, then add on paypal costs on that.
Actually, the money has made it possible for him to work fulltime on the project, which is what he really wanted to do.

He pussed out because he got sleepy, but I ended up getting addicted to the damn thing and built the start of my underground water system. Once I get enough brick and some torches, I'm gonnna block it over and build a tower on top. The stream off to the right will eventually come out of the cliff, where I'll have a waterfall cascading down into a building that funnels it out into the sea.
If any of you want to check it out, just swim over to the islands off to the left of where you spawn on the server and keep going, you'll come to it pretty quick.
Also, why did I lose all my materials when I logged back into the server?

Missing features in this first version, basicly everything you carry and most items around will vanish at logout.

It's probably because there was just a server and client update. I guess the server needs updating.

It's a real killer for a self employed person. Don't worry, it should ease off in a few days. Lost sleep over planning future constructions yet?

Warning! Just to let you guys know, the new minecraft.exe seems to be buggy and slow, also it kills me everytime I save the game. You might want to keep using the old .exe if you're carrying good stuff in singleplayer.
edit: It's doing it to me with my original .exe too, so maybe it's my savegame at fault.

Oh yeah. I stayed up til 6AM last night playing this stupid game. :mad:

The stairway is gonna lead to a huge room that'll branch off in multiple directions. It'll be pretty grand, considering I plan on making it a huge circular room supported by buttresses. Everything off from that is just gonna be my mine, and won't be too terribly fancy.
