Open the minecraft.jar with winrar or something and replace the file (might want to make backup first).

exactly, open with winrar, and you should be able to browse it and go to the GUI folder
then you just drag and drop the items.png to overwrite the old one, and the minecraft.jar and its done.

Wow, Eldron, you really did a good job with the icons, definitely my favorites so far. If you manage to find the time to finish a texture pack too it'd be the greatest thing ever. :D

And gunsmoke, I'm looking at the forest colour and I'm going to tune down the blue, since this is a pack for everyone but me, so I'll have to keep see what other people want from it, rather than what I want :P

After I took my nap I tried to get on the server but MC.net/anodal.org were unavailable to me for some reason, so I took up Manhunt instead.
That said, I have a few more projects in mind before I put MC away for a while. One of them I'm going to need help getting rare blocks for, and that's the creepy mansion I want to build for Halloween.
