But at least we seem to have lanterns now.

I'd like it to go roguelike on the difficulty, meaning really difficult. Would make it great.

Wait...you're playing Minecraft now? Are you on Briarios's server? If so, what is your handle?

If this is a deliberate DDoS, woe be to those responsible if they're found out.

As opposed to an accidental DDoS?

It was an honest inquiry. Honest!
Minecraft's been in the news fairly often now. And didn't notch get more bandwidth/server muscle to allow for the recent surges in traffic? There hasn't been any major announcement right now that would cause whole masses of traffic to redirect to minecraft.net; none that I'm aware of, at least.
Jason Moyer on 20/10/2010 at 23:45
There's a difference between a DDOS attack and not having enough bandwidth for legitimate usage...
The thing I find worrying is that, with the login information being handled by plaintext via http, it doesn't seem unreasonable to think that someone could compromise enough accounts to bring the service to its knees, especially when minecraft.net is unresponsive half the time already.
