Your mom pussed out, shut up.
Also, is there any way to get an MP server on Survival mode? :D
And I sure wish this game had stealth mechanics, it'd be sweet...specially if you could later on program the AI, bwahahaha!!!
:D
EDIT: Huh....whenever I load a saved game I appear dead and have to respawn, losing all my progress and items.....what gives?

Triple post, but only'coz no one else is commenting, so fu.
HOLY SHIT!!!
Man....what an adventure I had yesterday with Sinister Handed....
Even without enemies, the game's stilll pretty awesome and intense, specially if you can get a buddy along. After much hairpulling he was able to set up a server and we went inside. Fun followed.
SH being wet behind his ears I decided to explain and set up many examples of building tools, weapons and other useful trinkets as also explaining some of the different properties of different types of blocks, specially ore blocks. Without an urgent need to build buildings or any other type of structures, but having many tools and other trinkets we decided to do the next best thing.....CAVERN EXPLORING!!!
My God....if the game surface us 8x times that of the Earth's, I wonder how -deep- the game can go?, twice as deep as the Earth's?, thrice?, shit....we dug downwards for quite a while, then we ocassionally dug sideways, then some more downwards, we eventually were lucky to hit small caves, mostly with stone blocks, some ore blocks and dirt and gravel blocks (be careful, blocks that have gravity and fall on top of you can kill or hurt you). Eventually after much dirt clearing (we began to have OCD about clearing any small cavern of -all- dirt and gravel blocks) I found a HUGE underground cave filled with water -and- lava!!!
There, we finally found the onyx blocks, and I kid you not, I picked at it with mjy stone pickaxe....I never broke the thing, yes, I saw it chip, but got tired of chipping at it for quite a while. This is where -all- our excess in dirt blocks came in handy when we began to form bridges to cross over the lava rivers and continue to explore a bit more. We also found some sort of stone block with redspots, but when I used my pickaxe to try and mine it, it took a while and simply got destroyed, so, what type of block is it and how can I mine it?
After some more random exploration inside this cavern system I began to miss the sunlight, so I told SH to follow my lead and we began building dirtpillars straight upwards as we dug at the ceiling and piled block after block that pushed us upwards....you'll never guess were we came up to the surface...
UNDER THE FRIGGIN' SEA!!!!
We started our explorations in a small mountain cavern and ended up coming out under the sea....oh Lord....
Finally, with lots of raw materials in our hands we searched for a relatively expanse of flat land. We found one with a lake next to it, and after much dirtblock usage we covered most of our lake to make more space for our castle. We manaed to build the outer wall, I dug a moat but was having trouble filling it (damn water physics...), we tested some wooden dors, but even though we could open/close them we couldn't go through them, never knew why. We even set up a little basement for our workbench, furnace and large chest, SH was nice enough to build us some ladders and I made two neat front and back entrances to our outer wall.
Then SH turned out to be a farmer and taught me how to use the ho to harvest crops...olol....right click, silly me :D
Alas, by that time (about 4 something in the morning, yes we've been having much fun....) game began to lag a lot making blocks appear and dissapear and had trouble grabbing items. In the end I was killed by sandblocks as I tried to get more water into our moat. I respawned, diicked out a bit more, but then we decided to call it a night.....and just the outer wall was finished ;)
Man, what a session!
I DEMAND THE TTLG SERVER BE UP AND RUNNING AGAIN, DAMMIT!
Want to build stuff with you, guys....
:D

I think it's 64 tiles above sea-level and 64 tiles below, which still is quite alot, since you could put 64 minecraft humans on top of eachother.
128 in height.
Mr.Duck on 14/8/2010 at 18:21
I'm pretty sure we dug deeper than that :o
But I couldn't be 100% sure.....still....wow....huge game.

You need a diamond pickaxe to mine obsidian. Obsidian forms when you dump water onto lava obviously.
The red stuff is redstone. You need an iron or better pickaxe to get it. You can use it as circuits to link levers to iron doors or make minecart track switches, etc. There's also redstone torches that function as circuit gates.

This sounds all kinds of awesome. I should de-lurk and get into this...
Sinister Handed on 15/8/2010 at 00:49
I can't believe how many hours we killed playing a hard labor simulator.
I usually like to figure things out by trial and error but I would have never figured out many of the crafting basics on my own, so I highly recommend using the wiki to start or have someone show you the ropes.
If anyone wants to poke around MrDuck's hole or his easily penetrable fortress, I left the server running at 76.176.132.159, though I'm not sure how well it will handle any real sort of network stress beyond just the two of us.
Mr.Duck on 15/8/2010 at 06:27
Coco - Get your ass into Minecraft and luk less, you fuck! :D
Sinister - You can poke my hole anytime, sailor
Also, what we need is a game mode where hordes of enemies go looking for you and they try to get into your fortress (i.e. they can break blocks), so you actually have to toughen up your home :)
w00t!
