In A Winter Holiday, is it possible to get
to the lighthouse top ? If so, how ?
I don't think so. But you can
get to the lighthouse basement. ;)

Where would you leave a key for someone you expect?
It's above the door.
I've just tried to download 'The First Day of Winter' four times, but each time it stops at 2.8mb, and the archive is corrupt.
The download window also reports the size as being 2.8mb when I start the download.
Any ideas?

Hmmm... I'll see what happens. Perhaps you were downloading the old file, and we put the new version on-line an hour ago (with all objectives translated).
EDIT: It works fine for me. Can you try to download it again?
Unfortunately, Jason is away and I can't upload these missions to his site.

Yes, it works now!
Thanks.

Where is Bafford's thingy? In a Winter's Holiday.
Only played two so far and have spent more time in Dromed than in Thief! They are kinda hard...

Big hint:
Use blackjack to destroy icicles.
Well, they seem to be hard, but once you find out what you're supposed to, you realize that all the necessary informations are present in the mission... :)

I played all 3 of them. Honestly, they look incredible. Especially the First Day of Winter's ground texture. :thumb:
BUT....gameplay? Hated it. I hate missions that force their gameplay mechanics upon you. I don't understand the whole "give you no tools to work with" thing. Others might. I don't. It makes the levels that use it INCREDIBLY linear and give them no replay. For me, 1/2 the fun of thief is finding creative ways to use your weapons/tools to your advantage. No Kill objective? Fine. But then why are the only items in my inventory instruments of death? I thought it was pretty ridiculous. The one w/the Orcs I just didn't understand at all. There are like 3 places that have a sword laying around. Can we pick one up? No. The whole
make your way all the way to the top of the stairs just to find out you have to go all the way back down, hit a switch, and run all the way back up
was just insane. Thought the
ladders in the "secret room" were cool. Being on opposite sides, and having to jump back and forth.
Something different.
I don't know, I am not trying to be rude/mean. Just, to me, the 'best' and most memorable missions allowed you to implement your own play style to achieve the obectives.

As far as I remember, only The Citadel forces you not to use your weapons agains enemies (orcs have helmets). In The First Day you have blackjack.
