Ah, memories.
The textures do look crappy but you just know that playing it is a joy. The perfect movement has still not been matched.
In fact, I might have to go play an FM right now.

watch out with the mice :cheeky: , when i saw this part first time i was like WTH :wot: , since i played TDP first than TG, i thought i jist missed this part but then i knew it was only in Thief gold :P

I don't think there's any way of getting onto the mantle without tricks. I suck at the engine exploit tricks, so I've never gotten up there.
The desk is easy to get onto with a couple of rope arrows. It was designed for you to get up there- there's even a readable.
It's a lot of fun to climb straight up to the top shelf above the sink, then get on the pot up there and step off. You fall a loooooong way down into the sink. It's also a lot of fun to make a running jump off the top shelf by the matches clear into the water bucket thing.

Very weird moment, but yesterday while I was pouring my Guinness from the bottle I read "St James's Gate Dublin". For some reason this ALWAYS brings images of the Haunted Cathedral mission to my head. Man my mind is really in the gutter:ebil:

Those screens indeed do look crappy, but I just recently played through this level with DDFix and the Widescreen Patch (resolution of 1680x1050), and it looked BEAUTIFUL.
