Are you considering making Loot to be multi-choosable? Currently there's the original texture, there's JohnP's texture, there will now be a loot-shimmer texture. Are you thinking of making all (or many) of these choosable (like, no change, loot-glint, loot-shimmer)? It would be the bees-knees if you could have all three textures as a choice. :)
Well, choice is good but I think it is also something that has the potential to kill the essence of how Thief is presented. Ideally, I would like to produce something that will please the majority of the core group of Thief fans. I might try to might at least one choice in the Minimalist Project but the new T3Ed installer is going to be a clean cut, no nonsense version set of tools for the gaming community.

i just had a nice run of T3 and hit the minimalist first without any of my own changes, and i am pretty happy that it changed pretty much everything i wanted, making it pretty much The only mod one needs to 'rethiefify' DS
lacking a few tweaks however, which would make it perfect
* making WALK default instead of RUN
can easily be done by switching the walking and running speeds in the .ini, and renaming the walk button as run
this is the biggest problem remaining with the T1/2 -> T3 transition
* boardheads make no sound anymore
i loved using these as low sound noisemakers in T1, T2
shoot them at a wall near a guard just to get him to move, and not wake up the entire level
* there should be some indication of what's valuable and what's not
in T1/2 i was obvious
ideally, a gold icon or something would appear when a valuable item is hilit
or if not, dropping items you thought were valuable should make no noise.. it's annoying to get beaten by just looking at things
* the whole light gem could be optional, now that the engine draws the actual lights in the environment and it's easy to measure it by just looking at it

New Horizon, we are working on Polish version of TDS. Do you think that Minimalist Project will work OK with different language versions?
I see it changes fonts, so there might be a problem. But can one choose which tweaks to install?
Could you prepare such version of Minimalist Project that can be installed on different language version of TDS? That would probably involve getting rid of "font" and "logo" tweaks...

I'm not familiar with the Polish language, are there any special symbols that could throw it off? The replacement font textures have all of the same symbols the originals had so if your translation works with the originals, it should work with the Minimalist versions. I still haven't worked out a problem with some of the characters being misplaced though...so it will likely have to wait for a short time as I am incorporating the font changes into a new automated installer version of T3Ed.

Yes, there are special signs. You might remember that I was trying to alter the original game fonts for my own polish TDS translation (which got scrapped). The way I did it was to replace some german and french (if I remember well) signs with polish ones, and I presume the current translation team is doing it similarily.
The real question is whether we are allowed to make a patcher for MP with similarily changed fonts.

By "font textures" you mean Papyrus font in books and... everywhere, right? If so, it would be necessary to get rid of these new fonts, because we had to add Polish symbols (Papyrus-style). It could cause problems (or at least it would look terrible) if some fonts were different from the others...

I have a question for you, New Horizon.
When comparing the Minimalist DEFAULT.INI vs. Original DEFAULT.INI, I noticed that you have deleted all the stuff relating to XBOX. Just curious, but did this act cause an increase to performance or some other boost in the game?

Yeah, it would likely be a pretty big undertaking to get everything switched over for a polish version of the installer. I take it that you have had to rewrite all of the 'books' in the game? They would all have to be included with the installer.

:) Nah, it didn't save any performance. I just removed that stuff because it served no purpose and made searching through the ini file easier since there was less text to get lost in.

Another question:
I like the the new Minimalist Project, but I don´t like the play style thingy (thief, assasin etc.) and more difficult AI.
AI difficulty can be fixed just by replacing all the Difficulty values in DEFAULT.INI ( [Difficulty] section) in their original values, right?
Yup, that can all be done in the default.ini

But how can I replace the new play styles&objectives to the original mission objectives/playstyles (easy, normal etc.)?
That's a bit of a journey in itself. I really wouldn't put too much effort into that. Minimalist will go the way of the dinosaur fairly soon when I release my enhanced version of T3Ed with automated installer.
