Hey - just got around to downloading this and I must say it's a huge improvement over the original release. Picking that first door lock without the HUD was awesome. I also inadvertantly picked up some junk I thought was loot because there was no glint. It'll be a whole new game now and it feels alot more like the first two. Great work NH. :thumb: A true gift to the community.
Did anyone else notice an increase in mouse speed? I'm having to turn mine down in the Win control panel. Is that a by-product of the tweaks or just my machine?

Just wait till I release the self installing customized editor. :) It's even closer to the originals. You can select lockpicks and keys from inventory...lots of great stuff. We will truly have the opportunity to have some T1/2 style FM's in the TDS engine.

right off the bat, i haven't even started and it won't let me pick the difficulty i want. i'd like thief, but it seems to be stuck on assassin- and i can't select a different difficulty no matter how many times i click.

Right off the bat sounds like the very first mission in the game. :) Is this your first time playing through Thief 3? If you're on the training mission....the game doesn't let you choose the difficulty. That's the game by design, not The Minimalist Project unfortunately. I could look into making that selectable through the editor but it would likely end up breaking the training mission. Just play through the training mission, you will be able to choose your playstyle throughout the rest of the game.

technically it's not my first time, but it has been a very long while (over a year- i got to i think the first city section before tossing off and trying out doom3)

Ahhh, gotcha. :) Yeah, the first mission was locked in that position by the developers but it's only locked for the training mission. After that, you will be good to go.

NH, do you still have the standalone version of the minimal HUD somewhere? The link in the tweaks thread doesn't work anymore.
As much as I like the general idea of MP, some changes are unacceptable to me - but I'd still like a smaller HUD.

Unfortunately not. It has long since expired. It got wiped out when my web host changed servers or something odd like that.

To New Horizon:
When you removed the guard fatigue system, it is now almost impossible to get rid of enemies on certain levels without flashbombs etc.
How can I restore the fatigue system. Is it somewhere in INI files or was it hacked thing? (if it was hacked can the file just be replaced with the original?)

It's not a simple replacement. The setting is nested well within the gamesys files. If you replace it with the original gamesys, you will end up breaking Minimalist. The fatigue system was removed so that it 'would' be next to impossible to get rid of enemies once they start chasing you. :D The challenge is to be a better Thief than they are at being guards. :)
You'll get some relief when I release the T3EnhancEd editor though. Overweight and drunk guards will grow fatigued.
